OUR HISTORY
The CGO Media Story
CGO Media’s operating history began in 2000 with the establishment of a company in Dominica. From that original structure, the business developed an international client base and expanded its operating presence over the following two decades.
Before the Covid period, CGO Media maintained offices in Madrid and New York. Between 2013 and 2018, a separate CGO Media Ltd also operated from Manchester under the direction of Daniel Wilkinson, with its client base serviced through the Dominica company.
During Covid, CGO Media substantially reduced its international office footprint and operating expenses. During this period, the business undertook significant work for AliExpress in China. A UK company was required for contractual purposes connected with that work and was subsequently closed in December 2021 after the contract ended.
From 2021, CGO Media’s European operations were managed from Malaga and Marbella in Southern Spain. The original Dominica company continued until 2025, bringing to a close that particular corporate structure while the CGO Media
business itself continued operating.

THE NEXT STAGE
Why 2026 Matters
In early 2026, CGO Media decided to begin progressively moving its European operations to a new UK company, CGO Media Europe Ltd. The transition began in June 2026.
The decision coincided with a fundamental change in search. Visibility was no longer defined only by conventional search rankings. AI-generated answers, citations, conversational discovery, entity understanding, comparison and recommendation were becoming increasingly important parts of the discovery environment.
CGO Media had already been investing extensively in research into AI Search, source and citation selection, entity authority,
recommendation systems and Generative Engine Optimisation. CGO Media Europe Ltd therefore represents the corporate structure for the next stage of an existing business rather than the beginning of a new one.
